Balkan Foundation for Sustainable Development (BFSD) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable rural development, community resilience, and environmental responsibility across the Western Balkans. The Foundation works closely with local communities, farmers, and institutions to support innovation-driven and inclusive development models tailored to rural contexts.
Within the IDRON project, BFSD implements pilot actions in the Municipality of Debrca, actively engaging farmers and local stakeholders in the testing and adoption of smart irrigation and water-saving solutions. In addition, BFSD supports monitoring and evaluation activities, helping assess the effectiveness of innovative water-management approaches under real farming conditions. Through its strong community-based approach, BFSD ensures that IDRON solutions are practical, socially accepted, and responsive to local needs.
